International Conference "Traditio legis - Spotlights on 1200 Years of the History of the Reception of the Figure of Benedict of Aniane"
Saturday, February 12, 2022, 12:00am
The Department of Church History, together with the monks of Kornelimünster Abbey and the Historical Society for the Diocese of Aachen, is organising an international conference to mark the 1200th anniversary of the death of the monastic reformer Benedict of Aniane, who died in Kornelimünster on 11 February 821.
Entitled "Traditio legis - Schlaglichter auf 1200 Jahre Rezeptionsgeschichte der Gestalt des Benedikt von Aniane" (Traditio legis - Highlights on 1200 years of the reception history of the figure of Benedict of Aniane), the conference will take place on 11 and 12 February 2022 at Kornelimünster Abbey. The focus of the conference will be on the reception of Benedict, his vita, his works and his veneration - and thus the reopening of discussions that were thought to be over. The speakers will be Florian Hartmann, Michaela Puzicha OSB, Frank Pohle, Oliver J. Kaftan OSB, Ernst Tremp, Jörg Sonntag and Walter Kettemann.
If you are interested in attending, please register at the abbey. 2Gplus is valid. It will also be possible to connect via Zoom.
